Description
Czech made Model M59A (M59 / VZ59) 82mm Recoilless Rifle complete with ZH59 “spotting rifle” in 12.7 calibre. The M59 Recoilless rifle is a short range, smooth bored, anti tank weapon / light artillery piece, produced from 1959, and used by Warsaw Pact forces during the Cold War period, this example is the later variant with the cooling fins on the rear chamber. It is in very good condition (some mud in pictures from the journey home!) and the breech opens etc. the traverse and elevation work, and is complete with the cover for the spotting rifle and canvas gun cover.
Mounted on a two wheel chassis, that provided a stable firing platform, with a 12.7mm ZH 59 spotting rifle fitted, which was unique feature for a Warsaw Pact recoilless rifle. The barrel & breech length is 13′, overall length 14.5′. Weight is approx. 385kg and is easily towable and can be moved around by one person. The M59 was also mounted on the OT-62 APC and the OT810 half track.
